Garh Ganesh Mandir is one of the oldest temples in Jaipur which is also located at the top of the Aravalli hills near Nahargarh Fort. This temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesh who is very popular with Hindu devotees.

In this temple, the statue of Lord Ganesh is in the form of Child Ganesha called “Vigra Purusha Kriti” who has no trunk.

Before the establishment of Jaipur, there is a well-known fact that this temple was constructed by Maharaja Swai Jai Singh in the 18th Century when he performed the Ashwamedha Yagya to prove their sovereignty.

The temple was built in such a way that Maharaja Swai Jai Singh could see the statue of Lord Ganesh from his Chandra Mahal with the help of binoculars.

Every year there is a five days festival called Ganesh Chaturthi also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi has been celebrated in Bhadrapada (Shukla Paksha) in September month. 

Also, this is the rare temple in India in which Lord Ganesha’s statue is without a trunk.

There were two Kund in the temple, one is for female devotees and another one is for all devotees to bathe in the auspicious waters of the temple. Every year at the Makar Sankranti festival thousands of pilgrims as well as tourists also came from all over the different places and bathe in the holy waters of Kund.

The Sita Ram Ji temple is also called “Monkey Temple” and is very famous among tourists because a large number of monkeys are lived here in all the upper areas of the hills.

There is one more temple here, “Sun Temple” but the official name is “Surya Mandir” which is situated at the top of the Aravalli hills and dedicated to the sun god. Here you can see the alluring view of the city which ease your mind.

The famous temple which is made up of white marble and exceptional architecture called Birla Temple also known as Laxmi Narayan Temple.

The establishment of this temple occurred in 1988 by the B.M.Birla foundation. There are various sculptures of Hindu deities and quotes of Bhagwat Geeta that decorate the walls of the temple. 

Temple has an architectural beauty inside as well as outside with a lush green garden that is breathtaking to anyone. In the complex of the temple, there is a large area to sit and feel the scenic view of the surroundings.

Shila Devi Temple

Shila Devi Temple is one of the ancient temples in Jaipur which is located inside the Amber Fort Palace. This temple is made of marble stone and was established by Swai Man Singh II in 1906.

There were so many legendary facts about the statue of the Goddess Durga. One of them was that when Raja Man Singh was defeated by King Kedar then he worshiped the Goddess Kali to win the battle. Goddess was pleased with the worship of Raja and appears in his dream to grant his wish. But also made him assure that he will make the temple of the Goddess inside the premises of the fort.

After that Raja Man Singh win the battle and built this alluring temple. The statue which is made of a slab was recovered from the sea near Jessore which is being asked by the Goddess in his dreams. And due to being made up of this slab, this temple is called Shila Devi Temple.

The doors of the temple are beautifully crafted with stone carvings and silver work. It opens every day only after the offerings of gujiyan and coconut.

So many devotees come here for the blessings of Shila Devi during the festival of Navratri which is held two times a year.
